When bitcoin was invented in 2008 by an unknown person or group under the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto, the goal was to redirect some of the power back to the people by limiting the need for central banks or single administrators. The reason for using a pseudonym was because the inventor(s) knew that if people started adopting bitcoin, the banks and world governments wouldn’t let it happen without a fight.
Enter Vodra, a brand-new cryptocurrency based on Ethereum using the ERC20 protocol whose mission is to fairly compensate content creators in a world where Big Tech calls the shots and companies like YouTube and Twitch take 45% of revenue from content creators on their platforms. During the pandemic, entrepreneur, Conner Romanov took note of how popular cryptocurrency was becoming and thought of a plan to incorporate that with fair compensation for content creators, artists and anyone who uses social media to connect with their audience. He ran the idea past software developer, Zachary Bys and he agreed it was not only a good idea, but it was something they could develop and introduce to the world together. Vodra was born.
On this episode, we sit down with Conner and Zach about their incredible mission of working in the same spirit of Satoshi Nakamoto and placing power back in the hands of content creators without having to fork over 45% of their revenue to Big Tech. We try to answer some of the questions that get asked on a daily, if not, minute by minute bases by going over Vodra’s Whitepaper and asking questions we think content creators want answered. Conner and Zach’s openness and transparency give the listener the feeling that Vodra will soon become a top contender not only in the crypto space, but in the entertainment world as well. Vodra’s business model is a win-win for both consumers and content creators – more of the money consumers are paying to see good content is going directly in the pockets of content creators allowing for more quality entertainment from their favorite creator.
